Thank you to Warne Family Foundation and Kingdom of Love from the You Are Special food pantry/food bank

Hello Sara and Greg,

We just want to say thanks for the generosity you have shown with giving YAS the ability to purchase this walk in cooler for our food bank/food pantry in Orange, Ca. Every week we are getting more requests for food and before we had our cooler, it was difficult to collect as much food as we could and put it different places ever week. You have no idea how grateful we really are.

MEDFORD, Ore. – ACESS is partnering with California food banks to bring much needed food to Jackson County.

ACCESS distributes to pantries all over the area and employees say they are barely hanging on. Program manager Philip Yates says a record number of families are asking for food this year and the organization is struggling to keep up.

Meanwhile, local pantries are barely getting by. The Salvation Army almost closed its doors for the first time last week because it was out of supplies. Luckily, ACCESS was able to scrounge up emergency food to keep it open.

“We need to look for other resources, but we don’t know if they are going to pan out or not,” Yates said.

YAS food bank/community outreach Thank you to WD Foundation

We just want to say thank you to those that help the YAS foodbank/community outreach. We would not be able to feed the over 70,000 people per year without the help of our sponsors, donators and volunteers.

Thank you! (click here)

Thank you Rose for allowing us to partner with your organization, WD Foundation. The homeless, the working poor, elderly, children, unemployed and even the youth thank you.

Hello Ashley,

You and the Anaheim Ducks made the YAS team’s night thoroughly enjoyable. These volunteers work diligently to serve Orange and Orange County in the area of one our basic needs, food. They give of their time, money, love and compassion to serve those in need. We could not have blessed them the way you did by being so generous and allowing the volunteers to attend a game. Thank you very much!

Older adults hardest hit by hunger as their presence grows on the free food bank lines.

Hard working older adults are also needing help in our food pantry. We are now supporting MercyHouse, and elderly home program for low income seniors. Food is getting to be very expensive and even if you make a fairly reasonable salary, how can you pay for the food? We are very blessed in that we can give some organic fruits, vegetables and even meat from Trader Joe’s, one of our main donators. All the people who receive food from us are very thankful! So are we to be able to give it out.

YAS feeds over 70,000 people per year now out of our small less than 2,000 square feet facility that is donated to us. Every week, our drivers go out on the road to pick up food for the people who stand in line to receive food. There are many elderly, youth and families that are impacted by the low economy. It is a wonderful thing to be able to help those in need here at our food bank. Thank you for those who donate to us such as Second Harvest, Pacific Ranch Market, Trader Joes, Albertsons and Ralphs. Now WD Foundation and WD Corporation are helping us too kick off this holiday season’s Thanksgiving Dinner giveaway.

YAS has a new walk in cooler that was funded by grants/supporters Thank you!

Here is our new walk in cooler and a Tuesday food pick up/unloading. Those that work on the Tuesday before the food giveaway. This is used every week to feed those who have a need, whether homeless, working poor, elderly, single parents, or those who have lost their job. Our desire is for those who have a need to come get some help from a local down to earth food pantry.

Thank you for all those who serve and to those who have donated to YAS.

I was very impressed with this article. Yvette did a great job focusing on the true issue and need, people who have lost their income whether self employed or even laid off from corporate America. The volunteers of this organization are the true heroes who give of their time generously every week to either pick up food, sort food and pack food.

As a food bank in Orange, we are constantly wanting and needing to stock healthy food for the families, specifically the children. If you want to donate to our organization, please bring fresh fruits and vegetables as well as whatever you feel we could use. We are very thankful for anything that comes our way.
